3 Super Creative Ideas To Help You Stay Focused When WFH…

  1. Schedule The Day: Some use hardcover planners, others the back of a napkin, and a lot embrace planning software like Asana but however you plan best, use a tool to set concrete times to get things done. Scheduling defined time for work and defined home time is key to staying focused and getting things done.

  2. Stay Put: It can be hard to stay at our desks when the supply of home office snacks is depleted and a quick run to the grocery store would be a joyful distraction from the hard work that is looming. That’s why creating a quick reminder to firmly plant your bottom at your desk chair is key. Take a few minutes and make yourself an origami mascot like this Origami Lotus Flower. When tempted to leave your seat look at this folded creation, stop yourself from getting up from your desk, and keep the workflow going until the hard work is complete.

  3. Paperclip Magic: A handful of paperclips and a jar is all you need to keep on task when working from home. For every 30 minutes of focused work done, add a paperclip to the jar. At the end of the day, tally the paper clips to see the progress made toward your ultimate goal even when the laundry looms!
